just rewiring boiler in bedroom cupboard the past electrician put the fused switch at least a mter awy from boiler. is there a required distance?

If it is visible and labelled as such, i dont see a problem.

In fact many installs have the spur next to the boiler downstairs, with the wiring centre upstairs.

i want to put it next to it i was wondering electricity water?

Put it next to it by all means, keep in mind access for maintenance etc .... obviously dont fit it under any pipework and as your making an alteration to the circuit you will have a rcbo covering it preferably or a grouped rcd if rcbo isnt an option so worse case senerio and a leak created a lucky jet of water at the spur then its protected correctly.

I do loads of boilers and often get caught between having an isolator close to the boiler and putting an isolator too close to something prone to emit water.
You just have to be sensible and do a mini risk assesment in your head whilst abiding by the rules.
