Morning all...

Looking for any help you guys are able to give.

Whats the best mounting system for a felt roof with a 9 degree pitch. The owners are adamant they do no want the felt to be breached in any way.

In the past we have used K2 and Sun Tub systems but they are restricted to a 5% pitch...

Any ideas...gratefully accepted.

I've checked with K2 and Avasco and neither would recommend a low-ballast solution without penetrating the roof due to the pitch being above 5 degrees. Sorry can't help any further, hope you find a solution. What size is the array, out of interest?

I don't believe there is anything available for this, you need to fix it down somehow! We have designed one bespoke system that fixed into the walls of a garage and spanned the roof with larger profile to avoid roof penetration, but this only works for small systems. Is it an option to re cover the roof as you install, making a good watertight seal as you go?

There are many penetrations in felt roofs and flat that don't leak when installed by a qualified roofing company used to working properly with these materials Dulas MHH sell the Unirac one, tried and tested in commercial applications : Unirac solar PV mounting systems

You'r alternative will be to build a frame over it - we've done a few, - then again we do have qualified structural engineers working for us as well.

Not at 9 degrees, they are also only rated to 5 degrees.
