Today I went to see a "small job" a friend needed doing - when I looked at the "problem" I found that a plumber plumbed in an pump into their water system to pressurise the cold and hot water - nothing special there, except to use the pump (which is in the airing cupboard) they have to open the door and plug in the "flying lead" into the plug on the opposite side of the landing! Despite the fact this is a major trip hazard at the top of the stairs and contrary to the installation instructions which stated it should be permenantly connected to a switchable device fitted with a 5A fuse!
So they need a fused spur installed - that's not too difficult - however in the cupboard is an unused 10mm t & e cable which goes back to the cu and currently not used.
It would be good to use this unused cable (even though its a massive overkill) but I'm concerned that the 10mm cable won't fit into a 13amp fused spur unit.
Do any of you good people have any bright ideas?
Any suggestions would be appreciated
