Hi guys I am looking for a BS number for this switched fuse it is a MEM any help would be grateful.

I was at a PIR yesterday and noticed the DNO fuse seal was missing so I pulled it to check the fuse and found that it was blown with a strip of 1.5 copper across it and when I opened the MEM I found exactly the same customer not best pleased as I think ho thought the PIR was going to be a rubber stamp only to find no earthing for gas and water some of the pendant lights had no earth. Anyway comments welcome.

Yes I know I forgot to add the picture yet another grey moment.

House was built in 1973 it looks original and its got MEM on it as I said with a blown 1361 60 fuse thats linked out with 1.5mm copper the customer was not happy plus he wanted to know the rating factor of the 1.5mm copper I took a stab at 300 amp plus but tried to tell him that this needs to get changed but he was thinking of leaving it I take it I am only obliged to inform him and not the DNO ?

Based on one strand out of a 16mm is about 100A a 1.5mm should be about 65A ish. But I wouldn’t like to be around when it blows. With nothing to contain the arc it will vaporise the carrier and switch. Also with no thermal containment the 65A will rise to ?, but there will be an even bigger bang!
