The slow privatisation of the NHS has been happening ever since the present administration took charge. Many companies have been set up to provide the "service" such as out of hours doctors (what is/was wrong with what we had before is beyond me) but see if you can guess who several major shareholders of these companies are.
Upon full scale privatisation, which will happen unless people wake up, we will eventually be charged for our health care. You can bet your life however that our taxes will not be cut, unless you're already a millionaire.

Rubbish. Most GP's are "self employed" and this has been the case since 1948, and the last administration was very guilty too and don't get me going on the PFI contracts in place which could bankrupt hospitals all over the UK

Sorry Murdoch, I missed the words "a lot faster" out but since you mention it, who was in charge when PFI was introduced in this country?
Admittedly we have had 2 changes of administration since then and the Blair/Brown government should have gotten rid of it but it was surprise surprise, the John Major government which gave us that wizard idea.
GPs are self employed but are under contract to and under control of the NHS in most cases unless they offer their services solely to private patients. This will soon be dismantled and a free for all will be encouraged.

Have to also agree with Murdochs post #6 in that this was probably already in motion. I think your reference to taxes following privatisation sums it up. I haven't been following current affairs too much recently, but have not heard any shouting from Labour regarding it. Now, why would that be?!!
Another thing I seem to recall, is that the USA wanted a 'free' (IT'S NOT!!) health service like ours.

I'd rather have to pay per visit etc like it is in Jersey where I have family, they pay for the hospital and doctors etc, it would be better Nd stop all the crap and free treatment for foreigners.

Do you actually know how little health tourism goes on mate? Yes it does happen but nowhere near the scale that certain sections of the media and certain political parties would have you believe.

I was just generalising being a mildly not racist, the other one, erm, I don't know, but saying that anyone who's not English and not ntitled should not be getting any treatment of any kind, I don't mean the ones who come here for an op then clear off, I mean all the ones who live here who should be in a detention centre ready for deportation.

What makes me sick is that me and the mrs will be going to hospital imminently to have another baby, possibly tonight the way she's going on... Anyway, but we will get there and it's full of people having babies who cannot speak a word of english, you can see it on the midwives faces they hate deling with it, I remember last time, they would be saying to us how bad it is.

I agree with you mate, I was just pointing out that it's nowhere near as big a problem as some would tell you.
I also agree that if someone is caught here illegally then they should be on the next available mode of transport back to where ever they came from. None of this report to a police station in 3 days nonsense.
