How do,

I am looking for a good link or book on the procedures/ regs for disconections of 400kV substation transformers for bushing maintenance. anyone a HV substation wizard?

Cheers

Isn't it one of those, if you need to know, you will already know the answer, questions?

I have to provide a presentation showing the procedure as laid down by regulations and then discuss safety precautions and risk along with permits to work if a complex system with multiple live or induced voltage from close transformers requiring drain earth calculations.

I want to get it spot on hence link/ regs to work from.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, judging from the questions to my question this may be a tricky one?

cheers

Where and how did the presentation request arise mate? I'd have thought the answer you need would be covered in the stuff you have studied before this came up

I wish! part of my degree in eng and tech. I have contacted national grid already, waiting on a response. Ha Ha, i've had more questions to my question than responses, must be a tough one this!!

I think that very few of us on this forum have had hands on with HV, never mind transmission voltages. Its a specialist subject not taught on any electrical courses in colleges. Although there are some private training providers, one based in Yorkshire, that do.
However, try your question at this location.

Your question relates to 400KV which is SHV (Super High Voltage) distribution, switching not HV, and is way outside even my experience of HV 66KV systems, and even less so of my 11/33KV experience.

If you haven't had any lectures or course work on this specialised subject area, ...how can you hope to write up a ''spot-on presentation of procedure's??
