Got a 20 year old lad been working with us on a job by job basis for a couple of months who'se wanting to start an electrical apprenticeship . NVQ training in the autumn with us.

I don't really know where to start with this tbh, I have spoken with a couple of colleges in the past who do electrical NVQs for apprenticeships, but not anything specifically renewables based.

I'm also aware there should be funding for this, no idea how where etc.

bit concerned about taking someone on on that long term a basis, but he seems a pretty good addition to our team..... and we're not going to be able to keep him on a job by job basis for ever.

He can get up to 50% of his training course fees paid (100% for under 18s) and you can get up to £1500 a year if you qualify.
What support is available? - Apprenticeships

We got some financial support from these guys last year. It's partly funded by the EU and only available to small(ish) businesses in the Yorkshire/Humber area. Expect lots of paperwork, etc...
