Hi all.
As the title states, has anyone seen where to get one of these from or know what they are called?

Sorry about the people in the picture.
All the wiring must be behind the metal plate on the ceiling. What looks like the cable dropping down to the light is actually a metal rod. The live must go through the centre and the neutral returns on the outer. The metal rod screws into the plate on the ceiling.
Thanks for any help.

It's some kind of pendant light which incorporates a rod instead of a cable; it's more likely that the rod is hollow and both wires go down the centre of it than the rod forming the return path, which sounds dangerous.
The exact particulars of that light would be specific to the manufacturer - it's not as standard as taking a couple of blurry snaps and asking what you call it, you'd be better off looking for some identifying features on the light itself like a manufacturer or part number.

Some sort of mono-point with a rod light as Adam has posted it would be a case of looking for a part number or manufacturer's name as a starting point. Why do you ask? Is there something wrong with that one?

I would call it a rod suspended pendant light with conical frosted shade, but Brian is possible!
You would be lucky to get a match as lighting manufacturers change things very fast.
That totally flat plate is typical of the lighting designers, most have at least some space at the ceiling.

Some great replies there. "Brian" I like that.
Unfortunately there are no markings on it or any writing to identify it.
I was hoping someone might have seen one in the past.

Anthony. Yes, this one has stopped working, I can't see any way it could be taken apart to be repaired.
