[ElectriciansForums.net] Anyone use CED stuff?

even better B&Q (Tradepoint) knock out a 16w 17th Board for 50 quid !!! all in!!

made by BG

never used CED buty got to be built to same spec as rest of them !! just using cheaper parts!!

Only ever used the odd socket, JB etc from CED and seem OK. 1 of the local wholesalers sells mostly CED stuff and seems to do good trade.

to be honest im going to do a campaign shortly offering CU swap for ÂŁ299 (not including bonding and tails etc they extra if needed) so will probably fit them CED boxed!! i just need to get some work in! at least from a cheap job you can get recomendations and EXTRA's!!!

My thinking is the are all made in the same few factories in china (as per other thread going strong tonight) just packaged different so why pay more. And like you say Durham makes a ÂŁ299 CU changeover worth doing when they are that kind of money. I've got a CU c/o next week so might just give it a try.

Now fitted around 120 CED boards. The only problems are earth terminal for the 16mm MEC is a bit tight. Other than that no problems, plenty of room of cables if you are need and I have never had a call back to replace MCB,s etc

I've used CED quite a bit - pretty good budget stuff, nothing special, the plastics are a little cheap feeling but then what plastics aren't? As Ian says their earth bars can be a pain in the rear getting the main earth in, but again so are wylex/crabtrees.

On a side note, their accessories are OK, again nothing special but fine, but for some reason their pendants always have sticky bayonet fittings.

Put a CED in my Own Workshop. Quality OK and lots of room. 12 way fully loaded to my choice, 2 RCDs for ÂŁ40. I quite like em.

Got one deliverd today for a CU c/o next week - organised eh! To be honest there's not much of a difference as far as I can see. Plenty of room, plastics a bit flimsy as rocker says, but you pays your money etc etc.

For ÂŁ54 I will buying a few more from now on.

Thanks for the replies guys
