Hi,
I’m looking for a bit of help, I started an apprenticeship in electrical installation but now it’s all working from Zoom. The instructor doesn’t reply to any messages emails or phone calls and is giving work that I have no idea about. The latest was an excel sheet that is blank wanting us to fill in what we have done electrical wise.
I am already a Joiner and when I done my apprenticeship there was a portfolio you had to fill in with evidence to say you had fitted a kitchen, floor joist, roof etc. But there is nothing like that.

So if anyone can help in giving me an idea what type of stuff I should be doing in a level 1 I would highly appreciate it.

Many Thanks
Sean

Who are you apprenticed to mate?...just take pics of all the stuff you do with them, can’t imagine it’ll be anything to taxing as a beginner, would also recommend you apply for the trainee section on here there are loads of very experienced sparks who are very helpful....contact @Dan @Lou or one of the mods @SparkyChick ot @westward10 and good luck ?

Thanks @Baddegg I work in a hospital already but I may have to go on a placement to complete some other work. I’ll have a look on the trainee section. Thanks for the help.

Hi @Sean17 ,

What stage are you at with the apprenticeship. Typically I think it will be the level 2, level 3, NVQ and AM2.

Welcome to the forums BTW and definitely ask @Dan about the trainee area.
Thanks @SparkyChick I have only recently started so I’m only level 1. We done 2 lessons in collage then with everything that has gone on we were working from zoom, but when I try and email or message the tutor he never reply’s so it’s a bit annoying.

Best advice I can give, having not gone the Apprenticeship route is remember the 3 Es Evidence Explaination Evaluation.

Evidence of work completed, Explaination of work undertaken and associated paperwork (RAMS, EIC (etc), Invoices) and Evaluation (I did X Y Z, next time I will do A B C different, I felt 1 2 3 went well).

Thanks for the advice I’ll keep that in mind. Much appreciated ?
