Apprenticeship support

Hello all! I'm a 20 (soon to be 21) second year apprentice (4 days work, 1 college) with a Level 3 NVQ and all the other relevant quals etc...
My question is, as I'm an apprentice am I eligible to receive any additional support such as a grant or student loan etc? Struggling a lot with the apprenticeship wage and it'd be nice if I could receive support!

Possibly a carrer development loan! if you are second year apprentice when u reach 21 you should be on £6.31 an hour, do you get payed for the day you attend college aswell?

Well I make £95 per week regardless if I attend college or not, so I'm not really sure haha, I was due a payrise in September but he told me I needed my driver's license to get it. So just working towards that now. I'll have a look for that though thanks mate!

Once you are in your second year of your apprenticeship your have to be paid the national minimum wage for you age, so once your 21 that will be £6.31 hourly. Check the link below mate.

Confused dot com!! How can a second year apprentice have NVQ3 and all the other relevant qualifications?? So what are you doing at college one day a week, ....HNC?? lol!!

Yes, go see the finance office at your college and they will tell you what support you can get and not have to pay back until you start earning 'big' money!

Wait 'til you get on the 'full' wage then and have to fund house, wife and kids --- assuming you arent already doing this!

Haha ny bad! Typo! I've got my level 2 NVQ. Now I m doing year 1 of 2 of NVQ Level 3.

Thanks fella I'll do that next week. Haha no just paying rent to my mum and dad as well as my monthly overheads. Hopefully won't have to do that for a good few years yet!!
