Hello all! I'm a 20 (soon to be 21) second year apprentice (4 days work, 1 college) with a Level 3 NVQ and all the other relevant quals etc...
My question is, as I'm an apprentice am I eligible to receive any additional support such as a grant or student loan etc? Struggling a lot with the apprenticeship wage and it'd be nice if I could receive support!

By the way I didn't know what forum to put this in so I just put it here,
Thanks! :)

Possibly a carrer development loan! if you are second year apprentice when u reach 21 you should be on ÂŁ6.31 an hour, do you get payed for the day you attend college aswell?

Well I make ÂŁ95 per week regardless if I attend college or not, so I'm not really sure haha, I was due a payrise in September but he told me I needed my driver's license to get it. So just working towards that now. I'll have a look for that though thanks mate!

Yes, go see the finance office at your college and they will tell you what support you can get and not have to pay back until you start earning 'big' money!

Struggling a lot with the apprenticeship wage ....

Wait 'til you get on the 'full' wage then and have to fund house, wife and kids --- assuming you arent already doing this!

It’s sad that you had to say no more money to them for them to pull their fingers out.
