Hi all

Have my approved test next monday,this is a scottish thing god knows why Britain isnt as 1??? however i have to test 3 installations Domestic, Industrial and a main switch room! various tests on all 3 plus a one and a half hour exam, fault finding andsafe isolation. my ? is for a insulation test join all conductors through block to bypass neons?? and for fluorescent lights disconnect and put the cable into terminal block?? could i simply put the switch of to the fluorescent and switch the double pole switch of with the neon?? or as it should be 100% tested join the conductors thru!! a hope this makes sense!!! any help would be great thanks!!!

Your safe isolation is the main thing they will be looking at so make sure its done by the book.Test your voltage tester before and after.AND DON'T FORGET TO ASK PERMISSION BEFORE YOU ISOLATE!!!!
As for your insulation test you could join live and neutral together and test to earth.
