Has anyone installed an aprimatic electric gate? I have just installed the skipper model, THe wiring is complete, the programming process has been complete, and everything up until this point seemed to going ok. But for some reason now I cant control the gate via the key fob, or the keypad. I have not done an electric gate system before, so it is all new to me, though as I was installing it, it seemed straight forward to me and I could not envisage a problem. I have gone through the instructions many times, I have gone over the 'self teach' stage that the gate has to go through and I have paired the key fob with the gate unit. Everything the manual described up until this point seemed fine, but I can only get the gate to operate by manually holding down the overide buttons next to the motor. Could someone please point me in the right direction as it is a private job, so I cant phone technical when I am doing iot as it is either weekend or evenings.

I am quite sure there is not a problem with the photocells as this would hinder the self teach stage of the programming ( the gate goes through cycle of opening, pausing, then closing. It is at this point that the gate stores all relevant information to memory and is ready to use at its default setting). if the photocells where not set up properly the gate will not complete the last stage of 'self teach'. And there is no induction loop. I am starting to wish I had never taken the job on, it has been a pain in the **** tbh

Have a look at their web site and email the UK distributer. They should be able to respond via email. It could be a fault or even incorrect instructions in the manual, just had a burglar alarm where the manufacturer (one of the larger ones) had sent an old manual and the programming instructions were different. Give them all the serial numbers in your email and any software versions if available, the method you are using to train the gate and what happens at each stage, they may have had a similar problem in the past. Finally make sure you have read the instructions properly (RTFM as the support operators say), I must admit this is one causes many of my problems, one supplier even put a tea bag in with the instructions to encourage users not to rush in!

Hi southern spark, i normally use another gate automation brand, but the set up on these are very similar.from what i have read you have done everything asked from the manual and have found out the motors work when pressing the override.
So have you installed the ariel for the fob(sorry if im teaching to suck eggs).also you may need a volt free relay for the contact to switch over, this is mainly for the keypad but the fob may need a link across certain terminals or take links out as it may see a closed circuit, this is what i am used to but i mainly found out this from tech support who are normally very helpful.
Normally as well its a logical reason so check quick blow fuses.
I have noticed URMET DOMUS are linked to this product they would prob help.

As Steve said you may need to link out part of the safety circuit if its not being used in a certain way.
see if there is a test function for safety (normally dip switch setting) and set it to auto test, and see if a led gives you an indication of a fault.
The other option is to remove safety photocells from the board, link out and run gates, if all ok, add the first set of photocells, and try again then the next set..
