Hi guys ive been an electrical fitter since leaving school 13 years ago !
At the moment i work for a major international contracting company and this has taken me around the world !
Im a little board at the moment so i fancied doing some domestic electrical work in my spare time, to top up the bank account and gain me a little more knowledge and to stop boardum setting in.
At the moment i have an NC, HNC and NVQ level 3 in electrical engineering as well as a 5 year electrical apprenticeship. Even though these are in electrical engineering not installation, i was hopeing this would be ok ? Or would i still need to do one of the long 3-4 year c&g cources,
I was hoping i could just do the 17 th edition, inspection and testing and part p (already done pat testing)
And that would be me ready to install test and certificate my own work

Thanks

Bry

do your 17th ( 2382). the 2391 would be a useful qualification, but not essential. forget any sort of course with part p in the title. not worth the paper it's wrote on. join elecsa if you want to do notifiable work in domestics.

I wont be leaving the company as im paid pretty well, i also have a very busy life playing footy mountain biking, restoring my mk2 golf gti ,keeping the mrs happy ( ooo err ) and my small nightmare child !
I want to do this on the side at the moment as im hoping this will improve my wages with in my company as ill have more qualifications and the fact ive not done any qualifications for a few years, we are also planning on selling up and buying a house that requires work so knowing the ins and outs through being trained and certified will help me to do all work myself on my build and maybe make me some money when the overtime drys up

Im not clued up with all the codes is the 2391 inspection and testing ?
And this elecsa is that a cource ? Or a yearly membership that would allow me to self certificate ?
