I have come across some non switched sockets and believe they will need to be changed or is it a code 4?

Domestic property.

I am going to look through the book tomorrow, just one of those things bugging me.

Going to have to move the shower isolator too, pull cord is just on the edge of zone 1.

Thanks for any advice given.

They are good isolators for central heating boilers as well
The only code I could give them is TAQH

They are quite handy

Non switched are fine to use, but for general purpose sockets in the lounge, hall kitchen, bedrooms I always like to see a switch on it but if fed from a spur non switched is fine and cheaper. Reg 553.1 has details.

A safety supply unit in a school lab.....fed through a CT transformer both poles at sockets will be at a voltage of 115v to earth, therefore it is essential that all accessories are double pole switched.

It is a common misconception that socket outlets need to be switched. There are four reasons for switching: -
Isolation
Emergency switching
Mechanical maintenance
Functional

A plug and socket can achieve all of these by simply pulling the plug out so unless you are unable to remove the plug then no switch is necessary. It is only when the plug can not be removed and / or it is supplying an integrated appliance then switching needs to be considered and this may require a switch above the work surface.

Hope this helps
