I'm currently doing the 2330 level 2 and next year I dont think I'll be able to continue to level 3 cause my parents want me to do AS levels, if I came back to it in 2 years will the 2330 level 3 still excist and I will be able to carry it on? My tutors keep saying C&G might get rid of the 2330

iv just started the 2330 lvl 3 and i think that may be the last year (also theres no funding for the 2330 anymore), if not they would map your level 2 2330 over to the new qual 2357 and you wouldnt have to do the full course,, i think thats how it works, no doubt someone on here will clarify it.

I'm surprised they're doing the 2330 this year, i'm on the 2357 already.
It's all the same as the 2330 was anyway, all of our course notes have been from the 2330 from last year haha.

only difference you will need to be in the trade to complete the new qual, the 2330 you dont, the nvq2356 accompanys the 2330 but you can do it later,, for now.

Aye that is very true, forgot that part. It always slips my mind that you could do the 2330 without an apprenticeship.

You can do the new qual without an apprenticship as long as your in the trade and can be assesed on site, i.e adult learner im led to believe. Not sure about funding though, id imagine its been cut for adults thanks to "were all in this together" Dave.

The latest i have from City and Guilds on this is as follows.

2330 Certificate in Electrotechnical technology, 2356 Electrotechnical services NVQ and 2357 NVQ Diploma In Electrotechnical Technology.
How will the changes to the wiring regulations impact on the content of 2330, 2356 and 2357.

2330, 2356 and 2357 will continue in their current form, but there may be some changes to unit assessment content to reflect the new requirements. Marking schemes will be amended as required to ensure candidates are assessed to current standards.

Cheers..........Howard

Surely this makes it harder in the middle of a reccession??? I wasnt able to join the course this year and have been told that nothing was put in its place. Ive now found the 2357, put getting a job is like rocking horse manure.

Any ideas anyone can give me would be great? I did three years on site installation, work for the odd agencies but finding a job with a premanent employer is impossible. How can I qualify?
