All has gone a bit quiet for me at the moment and aspect maintenance in london are offering van, phone, laptop and paying 28 quid an hour!! This seems a bit too good to be true seeing as agencies are paying 2391 sparks 16ish an hour

Anyone had any experience of them?

Thanks all

Sounds like good wage for working for a firm like that. I'm doing the same at the moment getting £150 a day plus van. But current firm is looking like it's going v quiet so wondering what to do!!

It sounds good £280/day, too good, be careful, £12. Hour more than you are getting now, can you contact any of Aspects other Maintenance Engineers?

Yeah i meant to say they advertise as having no call out charge but charge £85 an hour which is more than my callout charge!!

I imagine they dont charge £85 an hour if they are doing bigger jobs or they wouldnt get any work.

I get the feeling i 'd be changing dimmers and transformers until i was blue in the face but that money is the mutts nuts innit?!

Thats a very good idea. Mind you everyone complains about the firm they work on so u may not get a straight answer haha

Thats what my mrs said but i think i may take the job and burn current bridges because its too tempting. I do silly things without thinking sometimes, thats why i have 2 kids haha

Went to visit these guys a few years back...

They have grown rapidly, and are extremely well set up! I would always recommend giving them a visit and taking a look around!

They have different pale scales for testers, installers and reactive guys -

I'm pretty sure you'll start on the reactive side, and as you said that'll involve various small works - melted dimmers - lights tripping etc

The thing that put me off on this occasion was that your hourly rate is only earned when on a job....so you won't get paid for any travel time, no matter how long or far. You'll be given an area say South London and cover all jobs within... so don't get me wrong you could potentially earn great money!
But you could also travel to only 3 jobs over London in 1 day!?

I imagine once you have established yourself within you'll be able to climb the rates scale and the controllers will issue you with multiple local jobs...after interview they will offer you a day out with an engineer...no doubt this would be 15 jobs on the same street though!

But....I'm fairly sure they offer a day rate now too? So at least you can have some consistency!

Hope this helps!
