Hello , Thermostat XL-8901 was not functioning in a dimplex heater.Placed an order , I received XT-9605 , instead. New part looks similar with the absence of a central hole where , normally goes a screw to hold the part to the unit. Any clear assembly instructions for XT-9605 please ? How to fix the thermostat with no hole in the new part ? Thanks

One of the vendors of the part you've received has the following note against their replacement (see below)
It sounds like you need the repair kit (part nos. below) instead of the part you've been given.

Thermostat + Cutout - Storage XT9605 Please note that if you are replacing this thermostat for one that has had the repair kit fitted (9509009 & 9509012}, this thermostat will NOT fit. This is an alternative part and the centre mounting hole is no longer available to mount the thermostat. You will need to order the corresponding repair kit.

PS
I have no personal experience of this heater, so can't give any further info I'm afraid!

I ordered one of these spares several months ago for a similar Dimplex heater, and received a kit - the different part, a few extra bits to be able to use it, and virtually unreadable instructions as to how to mount it. After spending the best part of an hour trying to figure out how to mount the new part, I gave up and declared the heater unrepairable. I returned the part with a complaint to this effect, I had to chase maybe 3 or 4 times, and eventually (after several excuses for the delay) was refunded. That is my personal experience!
