Hi newbie here!

I'm looking for advice. I am installing a new c/u and some new circuits for a customer which I intend to use for my part P assement and I have the following issues:

1)
The lighting circuit has t&e cable but the earth has been cut out at almost every fitting! Should this be rewired or can I still connect this and prove safe with class 2 fittings? if I can't do R1+R2 what can I do?

2)
The house only has a single ring main suppling the whole house customer is talking more sockets and then probably will want to spur off them.
Does the 100sqm rule for a ring main automatical apply as soon as I change the c/u and or add sockets I which case I guess I should just rewire with 2 or 3 new rings.

3)
House was built end of 60's cable is multi-strand pvc could it be original? looks in very good condition.

I guess this is showing my lack experince but theres only one way to get it!

sounds to me like a rewire will be the better option, you could run seperate earth in for lights or note as class 2 only as mentioned although not my prefered method.
you will require division of the installation across rcds so it would be rcbo for the circuits as they stand,
as a minimum i would rewire the lighting and add seperate ring for kitchen and cooker circuit although (depending on condition) prob insist on a full rewire

as its for an assesment i wouldnt advise just a cu change as the install stands.
