SRE

At long last I've found an affordable, simple software solution to tedious quotes.

Do your design 30 - 45mins

Quote, job sheet, SAP, payback, T&C's, Costs etc - 15 mins

Job done in an hour, looks more professional, doesn't cost a fortune - simples

Here's the website - Solar Software it doesn't do the product justice, take 5 mins if you can to speak to these guys and they will show you what this software does and the best bit about it - it doesn't cost a fortune!!

It can be as complicated as you want it to be - that's the beauty of it - simples for peeps like me but adaptable for those more sophisticated.

Being able to email a quote to the customer's email address while sitting on the sofa for bog standard installs has got to be a bonus and cutting basic paperwork down by 75% in the office = an 80 hr week instead of 100 hr week.

As I said, the website doesn't really do it justice, you need to talk to the guys in the office to understand the potential.

SRE, what package are you using? Did you have any custom templates made?
What if any MCS documentation does this produce?

Cheers

We're using Solar Local cos we're only small and it fits what we need perfectly.

It's not really intended for MCS documentation like contracts with subbies, health & safety stuff etc but for me once that's been done for the MCS assessment it's a case of keeping it up to date rather than having it stored in the same programme as customer files etc., but not everyone will have the same view.

What it does and imo does really well and quickly is produces quotes that meet Real requirements, you can add templates of your own for surveys etc if you want and a for a bit extra cash you can have your handover pack put together as one document too. It creates invoices and logs payments, you can book appointments and sync with outlook calendar and if you use Sage you can link in with this too.

It's not the be all and end all but for the cost of 2 hours admin a month you'll save 2/3 days worth of work so to me it's a no brainer. I can get out to see more customers instead of being stuck in the office under mountains of paperwork.

Cheers SRE, we made a spreadsheet that works as well as the Local software, not as polished presentation wise.

I really want a package that produces all the required QMS paperwork, Purchase Orders the lot. A big ask I know!

I'm guessing if you ask them they'll add it for you - I have a pick list with all components on and their prices. When I'm pricing a job I click on the item, add the number I want and move onto the next req'd item on the list. once done this creates a quote and a job sheet takes 2 mins - I'm guessing for a purchase order it's the job sheet with a sequential number but it depends on what you need - everything that I've asked for they've been able to accomodate - they just need to understand what you need. With a small adaptation I'm guessing you'd have your jobsheet and be able to email it to your supplier at the same time as pricing if you really wanted ......

Doh ... sorry - it already does purchase orders - I just hadn't got to it! I've also found somewhere to record no conformance's and customer conversations - as well as store photos, pvsol summaries, special requests etc ..

Am I sad :o
