O

Octopus

So I popped into see a client about fitting 10 downlights for them, The client has researched the Auroa i9 lights and on the face of it they appear good, and come with connectors - so my question is are the connectors already fitted to the units or do I need to allow time to connect them?

Thanks

Be careful where they have bought them from. A lot of sites online, ebay etc, have bought cheap standard downlights and replaced with an AURORA lamp. Then with some clever wording pass off the whole fitting as an AURORA product which it is not.

Did a job march last year when they got a good deal on 'aurora' LEDs. Half of them kacked out within 6months.

I have used them but there are problems with the dimming of them unless you get the correct unit.

I do quite a bit of Lutron work and to work with any style of dimming like Lutron you need a specific driver fitted to them. They are a special order but i have always paid the same price as the standard dimming unit.
The part number for the lutron version is

XAU-FRLD913/XX/LUT (The XX is the LED colour so cool white would be 40)

Most wholesalers do not know they exist!

The standard dimming unit has a white and red driver attached and the Lutron version driver is completely red.

Once i discovered this they were fine!

Never had a failed one and my supplier has not had any come back I get mine from yesss electrical they give me best deal I can get, come with 7 yr guarantee and you can upgrade to 10 yrs on line with aurora, never had problem with dimmer on them but make sure you get dimmable unit costs extra ÂŁ5. I would say as good as JCC if not better, let me know what you think when you fit them?

UPDATE. Fitted these today.

Like the connectors too, great for testing IR before the lights are added. The customer sourced the units and I couldn't match his price bought online and my price was from a local "wholesaler"

I would avoid them like the plague! We fitted out an Italian restaurant with lots of them in the dimmable version.
over the last year at least 30% have failed.
We got ours from Eddies.
