Good day all. (First post )

Have never had to use/implement this feature before... but am essentially looking for a device that automatically shuts off the outgoing hot line (power) after a specified or hard set amount of time. (Essentially the opposite of a time-delay)

I.e. when trigerred, it will allow power through and when the specified time is reached, it will shut off.

Any help would be much appreciated.

(The application is for a lighting system which will be on a timer but lets assume that a "bypass" switch is used. When the bypass switch is used it would only allow the powered lights to stay on for a max specified time.)

Regards

Not sure if this is what you are after but:
Could you not just use a contactor with a NC contact. Use a pushbutton as your "bypass switch" which wires through a timer to the contactor coil. You hit the pushbutton and after a certain amount of time it energises the contactor and opens the NC contact, switching off the light.

A bit more info on where this is going to be used may be helpful.
