Hi every one i am looking for info ie. manual for a Megger loop tester.

I have bought it and i don't expect it to do too much but would like to find out a bit more on what it can and can not be used on? I am under the impression that this meter will not work when a circuit is RCD protected, i can try it out on my consumer unit but it has the old style fuse so i can't proove a point there.

Any replies welcome thanks Ian

i had one of them a few years ago. all it can do is measure EFLI on a non-RCD protected circuit. if you want to test an RCD circuit, you will have to link out the RCD while testing. there are 2 ranges on the LT5, 20ohms and 200ohms. you would gewnerally use the 20. the 200 is for TT systems where the EFLI is generally above 20ohms.
