Interior plastic seems to have shifted in insertion. Bulb feels loose but completely locked. Plastic now stuck in position.
Any ideas?

Can the shade be taken off the ring at all to give a better hold of the bulb?

screw the collar and ring back onto the lampholder.

hold the lampholder and push up on the bulb against the spring, and turn anticlockwise. I think its just a little tight.

I think this is a safety type lampholder where the pins are only live when a bulb is fully inserted... so thers some extra mechanism there to push against.

I'm not sure what happened to the mechanism, whether it was the geometry of the bulb or just an old mechanism, but with a huge amount of jiggling and levering it came off - one bayonet lug less but out most importantly.

Thanks for your tips, appreciate it a lot!
