Back boiler programmer wiring

I am trying to add a back boiler programmer in my house

There are five wires coming form the boiler

1 x earth
1 x Neutral
3 x Live

Could anyone enlighten me as to why 3 lives?

as far as i know, a back boiler is just a metal tank heated by the fire that sends hot water uphill. something that plumbers have been struggling to achieve for decades.
