So after yet again after more time out of full time employment, I am back working full time to gain my NVQ and AM2.

Leaving the domestic game which I worked in since I started and am now on a big commercial site in Oxford. The project is called the Big Data Institute project, around the 50 million pound mark I believe. So far it has been great and I have learnt lots since starting. Been doing the basket runs for power and data the last couple of weeks. It is endless lol, hundreds of metres of the stuff. Will post some pics when possible.

Glad to hear that your back in work mate. As for containment!!! Been on a suby job this last 5 weeks in a small hospital and I'm sick of the sight of it. Post up some pics Simon, I'll show you mine if you show me yours lol.

Edit, found a couple of pics:-

good to hear you're doing some "proper electrics" instead of the house bashing drudge.

Thanks, yeah it is all steel conduit and trunking above the ceilings, basket under the floors for the data, and power tracks fed by SWA. Lots of lighting control modules and click sevens for the LED lighting. Ladder racking in the plant room at the top and UPS system in the basement. The temp supplies on site alone are fed from Two SWA cables as thick as my arms lol. Strict 5 point PPE policy and fingerprint id to get in and off site.

Very different to domestic but lots more fun and variety of installtion going on so happy days.

Nice one, good work.
And to think today I was moaning about running 20 data cables in existing trunking!
Maybe I am just lazy.

However you seem like you are onto a good thing there.
Hope it goes well and gives you lots to document for the NVQ.

All of what you are doing IS what is missing from your NVQ when doing domestic! Glad you are there, it'll help so much - keep that shutter finger at the ready for your evidence.
