After reading a previous post on tiny Rawls plugs that I never new existed I thought maybe there's lots of stuff I may not know that other people just use as a matter of course.
I always carry a collection of different sized clout nails to fix capping after using pins just kept snapping PVC capping.
Hints and ---- gentlemen?

i save all the 3036 fuses out of stripped out wylex boards. carry a few on the van. so much easier than threading a fuse wire in the dark on a call out at night.

good tip I have a collection I keep in cellar for just that reason I also keep henly blocks, and when working with swa 25mm keep some left overs for tails rather than scrapy getting it all.

Cheap skate ;), get some 3036 toggle switches in the back of your van and charge accordingly.
i carry a few of them as well. technically, though, by fitting them, it is changing the characteristics of the circuit/s and by rights testing and paperwork should be done.

If you need a good fixing in breeze block drill a 5.5 hole then use a plasterboard fixing (pigtail) instead of A wall plug I have done this many times and all the plasma screens are still on the Walls :)

a tip i've just discovered today. installing 2 sockets in an egg box wall. to get the cable through the egg box i used a piece of scrap 15mm copper pipe, hammered it through, then threaded the 2.5 T/E through the hole the pipe had bashed through.
