how are they normally wired for commercial office

The building owner or Tennant should hold the documentation for the electrical installation, often it is both.

there is only guess work with any replies to be honest, usually only critical equipment like a data centre and UPs is via a generator and it is usually connected via a automatic change over switch, however not always, so impossible to confirm unless we are given more information
