Hi

How do i test a ballasts output is correct, the fittings lamp is ok and it is not a supply problem.

What sort of ballast?
Digital.....I know of no way of testing these....if the supply/lamp/connections are proved ok it must be the ballast as there is nothing else.
Choke(2 wire switch start)....test live in and live out....you should get full voltage on both.
Ballast...old style 4 wire....I dont test them.....same comments as digital....check everything else and eliminate.

Hi mate,
thanks for the reply forgot to mention the ballast is a remote unit for a 70w metal halide
downlighter.

Should be 2 wire then.....230 in,230 out.
