Can't upload anything yet Floody, I haven't been on here long enough, just tried. I think you've got to be a member for a while. Still, my advice is to ask loads of questions when your testing and don't be afraid of repeating yourself, and when you've tested your installation....test it again. Don't worry if everyone else has rushed through it and has packed up, take your time.

Also the Chris Kitcher - Practical Guide to Inspection & Testing is a pretty good book, and there are also detailed testing diagrams in the On-Site guide

Lee I think your not able to up load any thing until you've done 15 posts, which you have now (16) so you should be able to, if not I'm sure one of the mods can unblock it for you.

YAYYYYYY!!!! Finnaly hit the nail on the head with this today. Ive built a quick circuit and sat with the megger until I knew what the hell I was doing!!! Had an official testing sheet and tested it about 65 times (exageration). Purposly putting faults in it to see what the difference on the megger would be.

SINKING IN!!!

Nice one Floody. I built a a ring and a 2 way light circuit on sunday, done the same, just went over it without referring to notes, fairly straightforward really. Feels good when you know what you're doing.

No, I go to my training centre on 2 weekends a month, went in to get materials ready for the 206 next weekend, so once I'd done that I just used one of the bays for some practice. Loved it. Shame I can't go in there more often really.

Well I'd say it's worth it, just get yourself different types of cable, single core, 2 core and earth etc and build different circuits. I'm staying at my brothers at the moment, but if I had my own place I would have done it, probably still will when I get my own place again.
