When needing to install supplementry bonding in a bathroom, but its impossible to get under the floor due ceramic tiles having been laid, i'm lead to believe that the bonding can be carried out in 'close proximity' to the bathroom, such as an airing cupboard. How far away would close proximity be classed as.

Hope someone is able to make this a little clearer for me:)

Supplementary bonding is no longer required in the bathroom as long as all circuits in the bathroom are protected by 30mA RCD as per 17th edition.

Correct if you meet all the requirements of 701.415.2 not just RCD, (iii) requires all equipotential bonding complies etc

As close as possible, yes ideally in airing cupboard where immersion is installed, if installation does not comply with 17th edition.

In this case i'm looking at the airing cupboard also, but its across the landing, roughly 4 meters away.

It should still be ok, as long as output hotwater goes straight to bathroom and cold water as well, once bonded test taps etc in bathroom, for continuity 0.05 ohms or less.
