Hi Good people advice please is it good practice to wire 240v downlighters in twin/earth or JB with HR flex in the loft i was alway told that tw/e is for fixed wiring not flex:confused: advice on this please many thanks

I take my twin into Wagos them if not already done, wire a length of flex from me downlight into the Wago.

I then usually use a choc box to enclose the Wagos in, using cable ties as a cord grip.

Quick to install and much cheaper than these so called quick connectors that you can get.

I've used both before, depends on the job and what I have to hand. If fitting from below and putting back up through the holes I'll use 2 or 3 core flex as easier to bend and handle, if up on a loft fitting for the room below I'll sometimes use t&e, probably just because you can easily do a tidy install when you can see it in front of you. Can't see it matters either way tbh

Flex is only designed for short runs!!!!....Solid (T&E),obviously can carry a greater current over a longer length,if down lighters are off transformers, remember the output is D C,thus the current rating of the cable / circuit is increased....Something a lot of ""SPARKS"" seem to forget about!!!

Always learning....Always willing to be proved wrong....Just not by the Fists!!!!!:)
