HI Guys I’m in the process of remodelling my bathroom, question is can I install all required cabling to
5 down lights – A Timed Fan – A Fan Isolator – 3amp fcu (for fan) and just get an electrician to do the final connections, under Part P

I understand its best to install a triple pole switch but why are triple pole switches
10a when the fan should be 3amps? Or have I got my wires crossed! No pun intended...

What you actually do on a bathroom lighting circuit is to fuse the lighting circuit of the bathroom only and the reason why you do this is because the fan has an over run so you need to fuse the live and switched live so its an easier option the 10 amp rating is that of the fan isolator switch which means it can be used on fans that may require a higher current if using down lighters i would install haler 7 watt LED a tad more expensive than you GU10's but there is no maintainance issues with them warrenty for 7 years no lamps to change and low energy and will give you a far better light than a halogen , as for wiring yourself ,as has been said get the spark to do it he'll do it quickly and safely

This drawing explains what the spark will do, not much to it and he will be far quicker than you. [ElectriciansForums.net] Bathroom electrics

just reading the thread.. completly off in a diffrent direction, if you fitted a single socket just outside the bathroom say where a fan isoplator was, and wired all the lights and fan off a plug then you aint gota part p it or anything... just thinking allowed and nothing to do with the original thread.. anyway ..err im gona get another beer
