Hey

Been looking at an Extract Fan which will only turn on by the pull switch on the actual fan. However, the customer would like the extract fan to come on when the light is switched on, then remain on for a period of time once the light has been switched off.

They said it worked like this before, until the pull switch was changed.

What sort of switch does it need and how to wire? (obviously needs a perm feed)

Thanks

If it worked like this before it suggests u already have switch wire and pernemant feed at the fan, i personally would just change the fan if its nackered that is and change it for timer fan. would be good idea to have fan isolator switch outide bathroom

Check the feeds , you wire a permernant feed switch feed and neutral to a fan isolatio then to the fan , these are fed from the loop perm live of the light and the switch live of the light ,and the neutral check the manufacturers instructions as additional fusing may be required , also all circuits within the bathroom require RCD protection and work is notifiable

Thanks!

Would that be a normal pull switch and just have the perm live in connector block straight through to the fan? (or would a constant perm. live at fan damage it) Obviously wouldnt be operating all the time, only for a while after light has been on.
