New bathroom as an extension. Normally if theres going to be a wall mounted extractor fan I take the 2 core from the switch and loop in and out of the lights. From the same switch I take a 3 core to above outside the door for a fan isolator then a 3 core from the isolator to the wall fan.
In this case the owner wants to put a fan in the ceiling that has an integral light in it, it looks a bit like a downlight. Do I wire it like the above case or just loop in and out and treat it like a light ?

like malcome has said manufacturers instruction , most now require a 3 amp fuse to protect the fan ,so i would take the loop in and out to a fused spur then a feed to the light from there run a three core to a fan isolator and then to the fan , this way does protect the bathroom lights as well but you have to protect the fan not only the live but the switched live to
