Good afternoon guys!

Trying to change this bathroom pull chord light switch in my house as the pull chord has pulled off.
When taking the cover of with the 2 screws, there's literally no flex for me to take the wires out... any ideas on what I can do? I've tried to get my fingers in and try and pull the wires down from the ceiling to give myself some room to play with however not been successful, any ideas would be really appreciated!

I have ordered a new pull switch and really want to get this sorted but it's really frustrating that I'm not too sure the best way of dealing with it

Thank you!

Can you get in above (attic) and see if the cables were clipped after the switch was fitted and pulled tight? Might just need dislodged somewhere.
I was considering that, however the loft isn't boarded, not exactly the lightest 🤣 I was hoping I wouldn't have to do that but maybe that's the only way sadly.
Thank you for your advice
