hi.i recently installed some IP65 low voltage down lights into a bathroom.i know its in the regs that you should install IPX4 or IP65 lights but what is the danger with just installing normall LV downlights in a bathroom ? surely moisture would not be a prob with them ? the only danger i could see is that if someone pointed the shower at a light and soaked the light.before it came a reg did anyone get any probs with just fitting the normal LV down lights in a bathroom.cheers

Building regulations part p , bs 7671 zones, common sense part 1 , point a shower at an LV and it will explode,

I was going to say the can go bang if damp/wet and do shower occupant with glass

When I was about ten years old I experimented in the shower (not like that) I sprayed the batten lamp with the shower! You know something? It went bang and shot glass into my face and chest.

Moral of the story, please fit the correct ip rated equipment.
