Got a call from a letting company concerning an extractor fan in a bathroom.
Unswitched spur and 230v extractor fan with timer (IPX4) fitted directly above the shower, wall mounted, the centre of the fan is 220cm from shower tray level, therefore in zone 1.
The spur is above the fan and is therefore outwith zone 2.
a 30mA rcd protects the circuits
i guess its more than 10 years old as its old cable colours, so its pre 17th edition but my concern is that spray from the shower could come into contact with 230v.
what would you do?
