Hi all,

I am a time served spark with quite alot of commercial/industrial experience behind me but very little domestic experience. I'm contemplating setting up on my own as I have a mate who needs a sparky to install and test electrics in his bathroom fit outs.

My question is what is the easiest way to achieve complience with bs7671 (Rcd protection). In my line of work, at the moment I would just put any circuit passing through or feeding any bathroom on an rcbo but obviously it's not that easy in adomestic property where the customer doesn't want to pay £--- for a new c/u.

Any help/advise would be gratefully recieved!

depends upon the work you are doing as any circuit you work on will require rcd and supp bond if old circuits are not protected.

easiest way for lights/ extractor fan re-route into rcd fused spur above door
shower into seperate rcd next to db or rcbo into current db
any fused spurs for towel rails etc also used rcd spur.
