had a headache for the past few days that wouldn't go away even with medicine
was not a bad one though.
anyway went to doctor for tests and found out i had suffered a mild stroke
did not affect memory or function but now i have to watch it close
im now on blood pressure medication and a low sodium diet
so guys be careful and get your blood pressure checked regularly

And if you wake up with tightness in your chest or feel it while at work or on doing something physical................it may be indigestion or heartburn..............or it might be Angina or a Heart attack.............phone an ambulance or get someone to take you to A&E immediately.
Every second counts boys.
They would rather it was a false alarm than not phone.

Very wise words. We are all guilty of thinking/hoping.... "oh it's ok....it'll go away"........... certainly makes you aware. Glad you're ok gnuuser. :yesnod:

I am glad that you are ok gnuuser, you have given good advice, blood pressure is known as the silent killer because you rarely know you are suffering from it, my kidneys suffered some minor damage before I realised I had raised blood pressure so for a 10 min visit to docs it is well worth it. Stay safe guys.

I'm glad that you are ok gnuuser ,

just shows that only you know your body own body. I had a similar story I was suffering with sickness dizziness and servear headaches went to several doctors over a period of a few months they all said it was a ear infection and just gave me tablets. It got so bad I couldn't get out of bed then the last time I went to the doctors he tried to fob me off with more tablets I ended up losing my rag and had a full blown argument and I insisted I had a brain scan to find out the problem. Had the scan and they found I had a brain tumour. But all's well now I've had it removed and I'm getting back on my feet again :-)

So it just shows that you know when your not right and that you should get yourself checked out

I am glad you are OK.

Trouble with our job is that there is always some pain or another we just put down to old injuries or strain and tend to just "get on with it". We feel guilty about going to the doctors " with a little pain" , but you've only got one shot at it.

Had the some same thing happen to me, was working in a loft pulling cables, came down and went blind in left eye for about 3 min,
week latter was working at com pricing for work got up for drink(coffee) and lost site in left eye for about 20 min, had to go to doc next day for a annual review ( as i had a hart attack at 37) told doc about it was sent to hospital after test was told had had a TIA(small stroke) lots more test later got the news i had a patent foramen ovale (hole in upper chambers of the heart) had a small opp and a stay over night stay, the headaches that ive been having for the larst 1+years have gone and i fill much better. hope that you fill better sone and wish you good

.......... and speaking of headaches, right on cue ........ YOU arrive on the scene! :frown2:

all this prompted our boss to take an awareness course to add to the first aid training so he's more aware of these things to watch for.
im recovering quickly though don't have the hand tremors any-more and typing fast enough to make a few goofs:laugh3:

I am glad bosses in the USA are more enlightened than those in the UK, most bosses here would only be interested in "when will you be back at work" or "sorry we can't use you anymore we have got an agency guy in".!!
I am glad your recovery is going well good luck in the future.

Similar to a lass down the road to me she had a cough for about 9 months was getting fobbed off saying she had asthma turned out she had a small tumour on her lung which luckily it was operable and now she is OK.
