All forum members should be aware of the potential termination issue with Chint 3 phase DBs and that there maybe still be effected stock at wholesalers (mine came from an internet retailer):
Hi Dave,
I recently fitted a couple of the new Chint NXDB 3ph distribution boards and while checking the factory terminations I found every boot lace ferrule to be inadequately crimped. So much, I was able to pull the conductors easily from their mating ferrule. I flag this up as your company appears to have a quality control issue. I’m sure you will wish to investigate.
Regards, Mark.
Hi Mark,
I would like to thank you for bringing this to our attention, as quality, safety and reliability are key factors in our business.
Months ago we had a quality problem with the crimping of the Boot Lace Ferrules used in our range of NXDB 3 phase DBs, this was caused by a leak in the reservoir on the automatic hydraulic crimping tool. We thought we had caught all the faulty assemblies as part of our standard Quality Control processes, obviously a small number may have slipped through the net, having said that we are confident that as far as current production is concerned the matter is resolved.
A goodwill box of goodies is on it way to you, just our way of saying thanks for choosing Chint.
Thank you,
Industrial Technical Support
