Bedrooms with hand basins

O

Octopus

So we all know that "zones" don't apply to hand basins ...... but where does common sense apply with respect to the proximity of switches and sockets in bedrooms with nad basins.

I've perused the BYB and can't immediately locate any thing helpful, so if anyone can point me in the right direction that would be great.

My only real comparison is that there is nothing in the BYB about the proximity of such devices in kitchens, and the only guidence I am aware of for kitchens is in the electricians guide to the building regs which shows 300mm

Thanks all

Off for a night out in a few mins so won't be in a position to respond until the morning!

Suitable for the environment would be my take, does it look sensible.
The 300mm would be OK, but a socket below and just to the side of a basin would be a water magnet, but above a basin if more than 150mm is unlikely to get significantly wet.
Practical judgement call I would say.

Gonad buffing aside,in a bedroom, there will be hair drying, and there will be a mirror above the sink...

Not the end of the world, but it makes the circuit arrangements of that socket or switch, more prescient.

Thanks chaps, some interesting and some amusing responses.

This is an existing install having a slight make over so the sockets and sinks are existing..... I was wondering if I should comment on them .....

I think a brain and experience answer the question. If it's within arms reach when you're using the basin then it's going to be a little stupid.

Like I said, brains and experience.

Really?

Oh, and put your hand down son. Nobody likes a class cant.... :)

Peace out!
