I know why people don't like paying the £450.00 but I simply think about the costs as Marketing - i.e if I didn't have it it would put a huge barrier between me and about 2 days per week of work - and I'm not interested in paying LABC fees, because around my way, 2 x CU changes and I'd be out of pocket!

I Don't mind being part pee again. I do mind being part pee again and again and again. Surely after about 4?5? annual passes I should be trusted. I only had to do my driving test once, and a lot more people are killed on the road than by my work, none so far, before you ask. Apart from owt else, all it means is I've done two jobs in a year that weren't total lash ups.

I see a lot of posts about "Fully qualified" and "Time served."I think its great if one was able to plan one's life to do that all by the book. But I think life is not always like that and one can find one's self becoming a sparky or in another trade for all sorts of reasons.I started as a sparky myself years ago and have now gone back to it.The local plumber was an art teacher who re-trained and I can think of many other examples.I also drove lorries in my younger days and I could probably go and pass my HGV and call myself a qualified driver.I think the operative phrase is "IN AN IDEAL WORLD........."Which it isn't unfortunately.
