i reckon the 3x2.5 is border line ,what do you guys think
Hi Benji, Unless the cooker is a built-in unit don't bother with the heat resistant flex mate, 6mm[SUP]2[/SUP] T+E has been the industry accepted cable for connecting cookers to a 6mm[SUP]2[/SUP] cooker final circuit. However in recent times some cooker manufacturers instructions have specified heat resistant flex. However, I am finding a lot of melted/burnt appliance terminal boxes on cookers that have been poorly terminated with flex (Only 1 in 30 years terminated in T+E). If you are terminating flex it is wise to use crimped ring terminals on the flex ends to minimise the chances of the screw connections loosening under repeated load/heat cycles causing damage to the terminals and/or the box.
i did use 6.0 tw&e but when i switched it on it didn,t work ,found out previous owner had chopped cable 600mm above connection unit plastered it in & tiled over it
