When picking up halogen floods at the wholesalers I always get a quality(?) lamp as well, as the ones supplied with the fittings are designed to last for about 2 minutes after you've left the job and are a guaranteed comeback. Our CEF supply BELL lamps and about a year back I had a major timewaster with a PIR flood which wouldnt work with the 2 BELL lamps I had picked up with the fitting but was fine with the crappy supplied lamp:confused:....Got a good continuity reading through the lamps and after much headscratching it became apparent that the contacts on the lamps were too far back in the porcelain endcaps to make contact with the pins on the fitting. Since then I've had quite a few BELL T/H lamps of all sizes with the same problem.....told CEF to get onto BELL but I had another two last week  anyone else noticed this??
