Hi guy's,

I have myself a Berlingo 2012 model (accident damaged for repair) Before I started repair engine started fine, however, after several disconections of battery the engine will not crank anymore.
I've tried so far the lexia diagbox 7.57 and the abrites commander 5.1 but both show no communication with the ecu...
I have now taken off both the bsi and ecu, but i think simply reconnection of these units will not make any difference...
Can anyone tell me what steps I should take next...?
I was looking to get KESS V2 V2.13 to see if I can do something with the ECU...???
Any advice would be appreciated...

get your tester out and check for voltage and see if you have blown any fuses

im guessing its a diesel?
 
Have you put all the earth straps back on the block. We don't know your level of expertise, a bit more info of what you have done may help.
Eg ,have you altered any electrics or is the damage purely mechanical.

Its a Berlingo multispace plus, 1.6 hdi
I am far from experienced auto elec... but I can usually find my way around things...
The only thing I did in repair to body work that could create this type of problem is disconnect and reconnect battery several times... there was no welding, no disonnecting earth terminals, etc... (The repair was purely jacking front end over) The voltage is fine... and i have checked out all fuses ok...
I don't have any lights currently connected as the replacement bumper needs to be wired in and I havent connected headlamps... but I wouldnt think that this would stop it from starting...

yes it was pulled on jig.. I know I havent done anythng to effect it appart from battery disconnection... and it seems to have spiked the ecu... there is an error on the car "breaking system faulty" but its not that and does not show on either of two systems used so far... lexia or abrites

If you are sure you have not pulled anything apart or shorted anything it is possible you may have to have the ecu reprogrammed.
Is it completely dead?
 
I am sure ive not done anything to cause this problem by jacking the front legs over an inch or inch n half.. it just shows that its not communicating... thats why i was thinking of getting kess v2 to access the ecu on a bench... what do you think?

I'm not sure to be honest, I have never used one.
I have access to diagnostic equipment , but have never tried to reprogram one. The last one we had it done at the dealer.

Have the Lexia and the commander been proven as working okay on another vehicle?

Double check for bent, corroded or broken pins or any signs that anything could be damp or wet.

Hi there... I have checked all the pins, fuses, etc.. and all is ok... things seemed dry also...
