Anybody built their own racking for a berlingo?

I wish I'd have bought the sliding door version as I'm getting really hacked off with the mess in the back of mine. Climbing over everything to get at the stuff just behind the seats isn't fun! :(

Don't know if this helps but I have a transit connect and thought about racking but in the end bought some sturdy removals boxes off ebay(search under sellar name the hill company) instead - one for 1st fix, 1 for 2nd fix, 1 for board c/o's etc etc. That way I just take a box in when doing a job and save's trips back and forward to the van.

How do you manage with such little stuff? I have a vivaro ad it's packed to the hilt with all manner of tools and accessories and I still find I'm missing something! Lol

Idid down the drivers side, but only lasted 3 months and i ripped it out. Don't think there big enough to have racking of a useful size.

Got a garage full of stock instead. Now that looks like a bomb has gone off.

I did have a vivaro before and found that I was carrying a lot of "just in case" stuff. Now I carry a core of stuff that I know I will use and anything else I get on the way or when I'm out. It's worth it when you compare how much a tank of fuel costs, £55 to fill from empty!

You don't have link to the ebay auction for the boxes do you?

Thanks guys, looks like storage boxes are the way forward. The only other method I can see is to build a 400mm high staging throughout the back of the van. Underneath I could put all my cases (testers, screwboxes, drill boxes etc ) leaving space on top for the likes of cable, 4 tread steps etc etc.

Decisions!

I like the idea of small vans because you can still get into NCP's !

My ladders now slide under a sheet of plywood, alond with cable rod levels etc.

Got peed off with having to take out the ladders just to get to the stuff underneath

When I had a Berlingo did the same as Amp David. Made a false floor for the steps and rods etc. Then just racked out the sides for all the other gear. Cable was down the middle, with 32L crates ( like the removal boxes) for CU gear, boxes, etc.

im getting some custom racking done next weeek for berlingo!! £240 for racking and bulkhead plus plylined throughout!! current set up is poor!!

also going to create a "false" floor for ladders! and get some of them boxes! they look the bees knees! if only to store stuff in garage!
