eric the spark

Was looking for some advice on which are the best downlights to install. Am probably going for low voltage ones, have been looking at the robus range. Any other good alternatives?

Tool station do one CED I think.... Not bad, decent amount of room in the fixed connector block... Very similar to the JCc ones ... On a side note, I'd go GU 10 every time due to the improvements in the 240v LED's and other energy saving lamps.

better to go GU10 fittings with LED lamps. no trannys to worry about. no melted connections, no failed lampholders.

JCC for LED. 29.99+vat, 10 year warranty and push in connectors. Finish is spot on too. Used halers but being they cost more, i have to supply a joint box and the arms need attaching I'd opt for the the JCC out of choice (halers finish isn't as good either in my opinion)

Click for low energy (but make sure they're supplying megaman lamps as their energetic ones are rubbish)

12v :icon13: well if you want a decent set up you're not far from paying out for a Led one anyway. Even then they'll still probably be unreliable crap. Warranty void

gu 10 cheap meteor fittings, fire rated , only problem is you need pliers to push back connection blocks as they wont go through hole otherwise.

I have fitted a barn conversion out with the JCC Fireguard 7w LED Downlights (Fire rated and IP65), very good quality, 10 year warranty and the push in connectors can speed things up also.

Comparable to a 50W halogen bulb (I feel they give off more light then the toolstation LED downlights which are rated at 9w) one room in the barn had these so I could compare onsite.
Dimmable option is available

It also comes in White, Chrome, Brushed Nickel

Hope that helps abit

For a retro fit 12v halogen lamp I have been using the Heathfield LED brand, they are fairly new company but I found them to be great quality as they work off existing electronic transformers so no need to amend any wiring with the tranny, just swop the lamps
