Hi all forum members, i'm interested to know any good UK apps beneficial to electricians,so far I have found a good one from draka for cable sizing and a few ohms law calculators, is there any free ones out there which arent US NEC code.

The Electricians Toolbox App. The cable calculator is useful although it currently only does T&E.

And of course there's the Electricians Forums App for iPhone, iPad and Android > Electricians Forums App | Electrician's Blog

For iPhone
Max Zs Values

Question: does this forum have an app?

I use Tapatalk to browse forums. Tapatalk is a mobile app built specifically for forum access. It allows you to connect to thousands of internet forums with ability to access private messages and upload images. It's great for iPhone, BlackBerry, Android and Nokia. Check out its review

It's about discipline, it's lunch time so now I can look at my phone, but it's amazing how much information at the touch of a button, just a sign of the times I'm afraid.

And to add to the thread - I'm very dubious about icertifi it looks a decent app but I think it needs some tweaking. - at £20 though it's not worth the risk

Is that by James Andrews Micky, I've found 4/5 icertifi apps and all are free apart from one at £2.99 which is visual inspections, but the electrical certificates is free

UPDATE

3 months subscription £18.99
6 months subscription £29.99

Stick to pen and paper.

i knew a bloke with the latest Sony notebook in the early 2000's, it cost him £2k... Used to take the mick out of my (proper old school) notebook ("ay! Ay mate! What you brought the bible to work for!")

fair play though he admitted in the end that two hours away from the socket, it was the most expensive brick in the building.

got my nokia e72. top class business model with a full qwerty keyboard and
symbian os. symbian is been declared dead by nokia, no matter loads of people still using it.
apps? they gone underground, are hard to find but still exist.
there is opera mini for web browsing, tlc electrical technical section does cable calc (twin and earth, swa, hituf)
Voltage Drop Calculator

when you press space key there is a powerful torch for emergencies.
there is a proper calendar built it, notes application too. gps with maps stored in the phone.
no need for modern phone for me.

So it's just like an up to date phone but with the added benefits of being obsolete, not supported by it's manufacturer, and having lots of fiddly keys. Not really selling it to me...... :p
