Hi all, after loosing my beloved pet Doris on Thursday I was feeling pretty low on Friday,so I was pretty excited when my phone rang to do a call out on the hurry up.As you will remember I finally packed it all in about a week ago so naturally this had to be something special for me to turn out and boy was it ever! The call was from a German shepherd rescue centre to ask me to travel up to Morecambe to asses a dog that needed rehoming urgently as the owner could not cope with it.I flew up the motorway and arriving at the job was shown a muzzled gsd which I was told had a habit of biting men,the animal turned out to be not quite 12 months old and was a pedigree female with papers, chipped and vaccinated.Although it pulled quite badly on the lead it showed no sign of hostility towards me apart from covering me in hair lol.I decided to take it home and asses it with a view to taking it to the rescue centre the following day, however when I got her home she was so well behaved that I decided to give her a permenant home myself. So now I have a new furry friend and my wife needs some new plants in the garden, apparently they don,t like large dogs crashing through them! What a great end to a week and what has to be one of my best ever call outs.
